A MANHUNT IS underway after a woman was killed and five others were injured in a shooting at a rave in northern Switzerland.<\/p>\n
Police were alerted to the incident at around 2.30am in the northern Swiss canton of Aarau, around 46km west of Zurich.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The 22-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.<\/p>\n
Four men and one woman, aged between 24 and 27, were hospitalised with injuries \u201cranging from minor to severe\u201d.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cThe manhunt for the unknown perpetrator is under way,\u201d the police said in a post on X. \u201cPossible motives as well as the exact circumstances of the crime are still unclear.\u201d<\/p>\n
At the time of the incident, the \u201cAarau Rave VOL. 7\u201d was taking place at the horse racing track in Aarau\u2019s Schachen district.\u00a0<\/p>\n

A large area around the horse racing track,\u00a0the town\u2019s swimming pool and sports field has been cordoned off, with police asking the public to stay away.<\/p>\n
There is a heightened police presence in the area \u201cas a precaution\u201d, officers said.\u00a0<\/p>\n
They called on possible witnesses who have video or photos of the incident to share them with police.<\/p>\n
Swiss daily Blick reported that visitors of the rave initially mistook the shots for fireworks until somebody shouted \u201ceveryone down\u201d.<\/p>\n
