Swiss police launched a manhunt Sunday after a 22-year-old woman was killed and five people were injured, in a shooting at a rave party in the northern canton of Aarau.<\/p>\n

All the victims are Swiss residents and in their 20s, police said, adding that there was a \u2060large \u2060deployment and large areas of the town cordoned off. They appealed to the public for any images of the incident.<\/p>\n

A witness told local daily Blick that shots were fired around 2:30 a.m. Sunday morning, and that he tried unsuccessfully to reanimate a woman bleeding from a \u2060gunshot wound.<\/p>\n

Police said a 22-year-old woman died from her injuries at the scene. They have increased their presence beyond \u200bthe town \u2013 about 50 kilometers west of Zurich \u2013 as \u200ba precaution.<\/p>\n

An army helicopter was monitoring from overhead, Swiss state broadcaster RTS reported.<\/p>\n

The organizers’ \u2060website \u200cadvertised \u200cthe event as a techno party \u2060at a covered horse racetrack, \u200cwith 3,500 people expected to attend.<\/p>\n

Switzerland has one of \u200bthe highest rates of \u2060gun ownership in Europe although violent \u2060shootings are rare and it approved tighter gun \u2060control rules \u200bin 2019.<\/p>\n
