This year\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.forbestravelguide.com\/award-winners\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Star Awards<\/a> featured a total of 2,422 properties across all categories, and for hotels, there were 343 five stars (including the 10 new), 708 four stars, and 679 recommended hotels. <\/p>\n<p>The newest winners are showcasing an \u201cexciting evolution\u201d in luxury, said Amanda Frasier, Forbes Travel Guide\u2019s president of standards &amp; ratings, with the properties delivering \u201cconsistent and reliable world-class experiences\u201d. <\/p>\n<p>Here we take a look at what the guide had to say about the new European <a href=\"https:\/\/www.euronews.com\/travel\/2024\/03\/12\/an-objective-anchor-in-the-sea-of-reviews-heres-how-hotel-star-ratings-work-and-why-they-m\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">five-star hotels<\/a> for 2026. <\/p>\n<p>Mandarin Oriental, Barcelona, Spain<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ch\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/808x454_cmsv2_ac2517e8-3d77-5f57-b80f-51092a418771-9652905.jpg\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\"\/>Mandarin Oriental in Barcelona (Mandarin Oriental in Barcelona)<\/p>\n<p>A \u201cmodern, luxurious retreat\u201d, said Forbes, the Mandarin Oriental is located on Passeig de Gr\u00e0cia, one of Barcelona\u2019s most desirable avenues and an easy walk to some of the Catalan capital\u2019s most popular attractions and sites.
