For poolside bartenders Abby Garby and Bekky Burgmeier, working at Grand Geneva is about more than serving drinks. It\u2019s also about the people they meet and the team they work with.<\/p>\n
\u201cMy biggest thing here is just like the team atmosphere,\u201d Garby said.<\/p>\n
She said the job has helped her become more comfortable interacting with people she had never met before.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis has just been so good because I\u2019m learning how to engage with people that I have never met before. So it\u2019s just like different conversation,\u201d Garby said.<\/p>\n
For Burgmeier, flexibility is another perk.<\/p>\n
\u201cI can kind of choose my own hours and availability. So that\u2019s really nice. So yeah, I plan on definitely staying here for a while,\u201d Burgmeier said.<\/p>\n
And for employees looking to turn hospitality into a long-term career, Grand Geneva can provide opportunities to move up.<\/p>\n
Geneva ChopHouse Chef de Cuisine Shawn Clausen started 23 years ago as a cafeteria cook at Timber Ridge, a sister property.<\/p>\n
\u201cI became a supervisor, and then became a chef, and then became a manager. And it\u2019s just been a great experience,\u201d Clausen said.<\/p>\n
Assistant Director of Food and Beverage Michael Koszuta said employees also have access to benefits offered through the Marcus Corporation.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s truly a lifestyle that we\u2019re allowed to live as a result of working for Grand,\u201d Koszuta said.<\/p>\n
