{"id":125206,"date":"2026-09-03T13:42:51","date_gmt":"2026-09-03T13:42:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ch\/125206\/"},"modified":"2026-09-03T13:42:51","modified_gmt":"2026-09-03T13:42:51","slug":"renewable-energy-facility-near-whitesboro-holds-ribbon-cutting","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ch\/125206\/","title":{"rendered":"Renewable energy facility near Whitesboro holds ribbon cutting"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"text | article-text\">WHITESBORO, Texas (KXII) &#8211; A renewable energy project in Grayson County\u2019s landfills is taking shape, transforming trash into natural gas.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Sherman, Denison and Gainesville partnered with Vitol Bio-Methane (VBM) to open a renewable natural gas facility near Whitesboro.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The facility will convert landfill gas into gas that powers homes and vehicles while reducing that landfill smell.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cWith our annual intake of gas from the landfill to the plant, through that pipe, we can produce enough natural gas to support 7,000-11,000 homes annually,\u201d said VBM Head of Compliance Scott Levay.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The Texoma facility is the first of two Vitol sites in Texas.<\/p>\n<p>Copyright 2026 KXII.
