{"id":126008,"date":"2026-09-04T15:32:16","date_gmt":"2026-09-04T15:32:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ch\/126008\/"},"modified":"2026-09-04T15:32:16","modified_gmt":"2026-09-04T15:32:16","slug":"genevas-festival-of-the-vine-marks-44th-year-sept-11-13-shaw-local","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ch\/126008\/","title":{"rendered":"Geneva\u2019s Festival of the Vine marks 44th year Sept. 11-13 \u2013 Shaw Local"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-xb1qmn-0 gBIiEi body-paragraph\">Fall kicks off in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.shawlocal.com\/tags\/geneva\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.shawlocal.com\/tags\/geneva\/\">Geneva<\/a> from Sept. 11-13 with the 44th annual Festival of the Vine at James and South Fourth Streets in the city\u2019s downtown.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-xb1qmn-0 gBIiEi body-paragraph\">Among the 15 wines featured are Lolea Red Sangria, Seaglass Pinot Noir and Vall Llach Priorat from Spain, according to the Geneva Chamber of Commerce website.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-xb1qmn-0 gBIiEi body-paragraph\">Among the six beers and seltzers are Penrose Light German Style Helles beer, Goofy Boots Hazy IPA and Apple Cider Donut Seltz-Up made with apples, cinnamon and vanilla.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-xb1qmn-0 gBIiEi body-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.penrosebrewing.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.penrosebrewing.com\/\">Penrose Brewing<\/a> will also offer a white grape sangria slush-up, which is frozen hard seltzer with real white grape, as well as the company\u2019s Seltz-Ups in frozen slushy form.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-xb1qmn-0 gBIiEi body-paragraph\">Local businesses will also feature wine tastings, such as the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.littletraveler.com\/event\/festival-of-the-vine-2\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.littletraveler.com\/event\/festival-of-the-vine-2\/\">Little Traveler<\/a>, 404 S. Third St.; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.upnorthwinegeneva.com\/events\/tacomadre-wx7bp-p56pm-wp9t3-3f4pr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.upnorthwinegeneva.com\/events\/tacomadre-wx7bp-p56pm-wp9t3-3f4pr\">Up North Wine<\/a>, 9 N. Second St.; <a href=\"https:\/\/genevawinecellars.com\/events\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/genevawinecellars.com\/events\">Geneva Wine Cellar &amp; Tasting Room<\/a>, 227 S. Third St.; and <a href=\"https:\/\/savwaywines.com\/events\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/savwaywines.com\/events\/\">SavWay Fine Wines &amp; Spirits<\/a>, 515 W. Third St., with hummus and fresh pita, felafel with lemon tahina and mini lamb gyros. <\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-xb1qmn-0 gBIiEi body-paragraph\">\u201cWe missed it last year,\u201d co-owner Charlie Smith said of participating in the Flavor Fare. \u201cWe opened just afterwards. The timing didn\u2019t work out. But we love to be part of the community. Myself and my other two partners have been working at other places in the community for years \u2013 we just want to be part of it and get our name out there.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-xb1qmn-0 gBIiEi body-paragraph\">For Sweet Sensations, in the Geneva Antique Market at 227 S. Third St., Suite 109, it\u2019s the sixth or seventh time in the Flavor Fare, said owner Zach Norbut.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-xb1qmn-0 gBIiEi body-paragraph\">They have so much fun, they\u2019ve lost count.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-xb1qmn-0 gBIiEi body-paragraph\">\u201cIt\u2019s all of our staff\u2019s favorite weekend by far,\u201d Norbut said. \u201cEveryone comes together and has a good time.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-xb1qmn-0 gBIiEi body-paragraph\">Sweet Sensations will offer ready-to-eat cookie dough or ice cream, combos and a jumbo baked cookie\/brownie.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-xb1qmn-0 gBIiEi body-paragraph\">\u201cThat is what we are known for \u2013 ready-to-eat cookie dough and ice cream,\u201d Norbut said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-xb1qmn-0 gBIiEi body-paragraph\">Others at the Flavor Fare tent will be Chianti\u2019s Carryout &amp; Catering with its famous garlic crab pasta; Cody\u2019s Belly Bites with a mashed potato bar; Geneva Ale House will feature a smash burger and pulled pork sliders; Inglenook Pantry will return with its apple cobbler and maple ice cream.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ch\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/ZFRGVZEI3FBYWAF2H6JL6LH6AE.jpg\" width=\"1440\" height=\"0\" loading=\"lazy\"\/><\/p>\n<p class=\"ImageMetadata__MetadataParagraph-sc-1gn0vty-0 ijEZZk image-metadata\">People get samples of wine at The Little Traveler during a previous Festival of the Vine in Geneva. (Shaw Media)<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-xb1qmn-0 gBIiEi body-paragraph\">Also, Franklin\u2019s will have Chicago-style hotdogs; Kernel\u2019s Gourmet Popcorn with popcorn and candy; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chickensaladchick.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.chickensaladchick.com\/\">Chicken Salad Chick<\/a> of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.shawlocal.com\/tags\/batavia\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.shawlocal.com\/tags\/batavia\/\">Batavia<\/a> will offer its varieties of chicken salad; Stockholm\u2019s will have grilled artichokes, pulled pork and Dijon salmon; Tacatz Tacos will have chicken or steak fajita or quesadilla wraps and tacos; Paizao Gaucha Brazilan Steakhouse will offer parmesan grilled chicken with fried polenta.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-xb1qmn-0 gBIiEi body-paragraph\">The Flavor Fare and wine tents will be open from noon to 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and from noon to 4:30 p.m. Sunday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-xb1qmn-0 gBIiEi body-paragraph\">Guests buy tickets for the drinks and the food samples. <\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-xb1qmn-0 gBIiEi body-paragraph\">Ticket booths are open from noon to 9:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 11; from noon to 9:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 12; and from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 13.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-xb1qmn-0 gBIiEi body-paragraph\">Tickets are $2 apiece and sold in increments of $20 and guests must be 21 or older to purchase alcohol.
