{"id":127385,"date":"2026-09-08T05:59:11","date_gmt":"2026-09-08T05:59:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ch\/127385\/"},"modified":"2026-09-08T05:59:11","modified_gmt":"2026-09-08T05:59:11","slug":"nestle-to-offload-mainstream-vitamin-brands-for-1b","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ch\/127385\/","title":{"rendered":"Nestle to offload mainstream vitamin brands for $1B"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>LONDON &#8212; Nestle will sell its mainstream vitamin brands to private equity firm Yellow Wood Partners for $1 billion, it said on Tuesday, as CEO Philipp Navratil tightens the company&#8217;s strategic focus.<\/p>\n<p>Navratil, who took the top job at Nestle exactly a year ago, has reduced Nestle&#8217;s exposure to ice cream and water brands through joint ventures, slimming the Swiss conglomerate&#8217;s portfolio in search of growth, a tactic similar to rival consumer goods firms Unilever and Reckitt.<\/p>\n<p>The sale of Nestle&#8217;s mainstream vitamins, minerals and supplements business includes seven brands &#8212; Nature&#8217;s Bounty, Osteo Bi-Flex, Ester-C, Gard, Nuun, Puritan&#8217;s Pride and Sisu &#8212; and its U.S. private-label supplements business, Nestle said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>Those brands generated $1.2 billion in sales in 2025, Nestle said.<\/p>\n<p>Nestle acquired several of those brands &#8212; including Nature&#8217;s Bounty &#8212; in a $5.75 billion deal with The Bountiful Company in 2021.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We are focusing our resources where we have the strongest competitive advantage,&#8221; Navratil said, adding that the mainstream vitamins, minerals and supplements business &#8220;requires a different approach under dedicated ownership.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Other consumer goods firms have made similar moves into health and wellness, with U.S.-based Procter &amp; Gamble last month agreeing to buy supplements maker Thorne for $3.8 billion.<\/p>\n<p>Nestle will hold onto Solgar, a premium brand it acquired in that transaction.<\/p>\n<p>The Nestle deal, which is expected to close in the first half of 2027, is Yellow Wood&#8217;s sixth acquisition from major consumer companies since 2019.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"LONDON &#8212; Nestle will sell its mainstream vitamin brands to private equity firm Yellow Wood Partners for $1&hellip;\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":127386,"comment_status":"","ping_status":"","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":"","_share_on_mastodon":"0"},"categories":[126],"tags":[199],"class_list":["post-127385","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-nestle","tag-nestle"],"share_on_mastodon":{"url":"https:\/\/pubeurope.com\/@ch\/117233894363053598","error":""},"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ch\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/127385","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ch\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ch\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ch\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/2"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ch\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=127385"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ch\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/127385\/revisions"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ch\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/127386"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ch\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=127385"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ch\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=127385"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ch\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=127385"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
