Turturro will touch down in Zurich to accept the award in person on September 26 and will also participate in a Zurich Film Festival Masters session on September 27.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tIn\u00a0The Only Living Pickpocket in New York, Turturro stars as Harry, a seasoned pickpocket whose carefully controlled life is thrown into turmoil when a job goes wrong, setting off a tense chain of events that unfolds over the course of 36 hours. Set against the streets of New York, the film combines the momentum and suspense of a crime thriller with a character-driven story about a man confronting the choices that have shaped his life.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tTurturro\u2019s career spans more than four decades, working with a range of filmmakers such as Spike Lee, Joel and Ethan Coen, Martin Scorsese, Robert Redford, Robert De Niro, Nanni Moretti and Pedro Almod\u00f3var. His breakthrough roles in Lee\u2019s films\u00a0Do the Right Thing\u00a0and\u00a0Jungle Fever\u00a0firmly established him as a distinctive actor of his generation.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tTurturro has been a frequent collaborator with the Coen brothers, appearing in films such as\u00a0Miller\u2019s Crossing,\u00a0Barton Fink,\u00a0O Brother, Where Art Thou?\u00a0and\u00a0The Big Lebowski, in which he created the iconic character Jesus Quintana. For his lead performance in\u00a0Barton Fink, he won the Best Actor Award at the 1991 Cannes Film Festival and the David di Donatello Award.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tFurther credits include Francesco Rosi\u2019s\u00a0The Truce, Redford\u2019s\u00a0Quiz Show, Scorsese\u2019s\u00a0The Color of Money and Di Niro\u2019s\u00a0The Good Shepherd\u00a0as well as Almod\u00f3var\u2019s\u00a0The Room Next Door,\u00a0Matt\u00a0Reeves\u00a0The Batman,\u00a0Mr. Deeds,\u00a0Anger Management\u00a0and Transformers\u00a0\u00a0He later reprised his role as Quintana in\u00a0The Jesus Rolls, which he wrote, directed and starred in.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tTurturro received the Camera D\u2019Or Award at the Cannes Film Festival for\u00a0Mac, his directorial debut. His other films as a writer and director include\u00a0Illuminata,\u00a0Romance &amp; Cigarettes,\u00a0Passione\u00a0and\u00a0Fading Gigolo.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tHis TV work has seen him earn an Emmy for his guest appearance on\u00a0Monk\u00a0and he was nominated for an Emmy, Golden Globe and SAG Award for his performance as criminal attorney John Stone in HBO\u2019s\u00a0The Night Of. Further TV credits include\u00a0The Plot Against America,\u00a0Mr. &amp; Mrs. Smith\u00a0and\u00a0Severance, the latter of which he received Primetime Emmy nominations for both seasons.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tYesterday, ZFF announced that it would also be honoring Zurich-born actress Elisabeth Baume-Schneider with a Golden Eye Award, making her the youngest actress to receive the award.
