{"id":128165,"date":"2026-09-09T10:35:13","date_gmt":"2026-09-09T10:35:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ch\/128165\/"},"modified":"2026-09-09T10:35:13","modified_gmt":"2026-09-09T10:35:13","slug":"nestle-to-expand-pet-food-production-in-thailand","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ch\/128165\/","title":{"rendered":"Nestl\u00e9 To Expand Pet Food Production In Thailand"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Nestl\u00e9 has announced plans to expand its pet food production in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.esmmagazine.com\/tag\/thailand\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Thailand<\/a>, investing more than CHF 157 million (\u20ac166.9 million).<\/p>\n<p>The company noted that the expansion aims to meet growing local and international demand for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.esmmagazine.com\/tag\/pet-food\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">pet food<\/a> products under its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.esmmagazine.com\/tag\/purina\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Purina<\/a> brands, including Felix, Friskies, Pro Plan and Purina One.<\/p>\n<p>Remy Ejel, CEO of Nestl\u00e9 Zone Asia, Oceania and Africa (AOA), said, &#8220;Pet food is one of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.esmmagazine.com\/tag\/nestle\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Nestl\u00e9&#8217;s<\/a> most dynamic segments globally, accounting for around 21% of Group sales. [\u2026]<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Thailand is an important part of Purina\u2019s global manufacturing network, and this expansion will enhance our ability to serve more pet owners with superior nutrition.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Focus On AOA<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.esmmagazine.com\/tag\/investment\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">investment<\/a> will focus on Purina\u2019s manufacturing site in Rayong, Thailand, supporting increased production using locally sourced raw materials, such as poultry, fish and vegetables.<\/p>\n<p>The company emphasised that the site will support local suppliers and the local economy.<\/p>\n<p>Nestl\u00e9 also highlighted that the expansion builds on growth across the pet care sector, driven by a rise in pet ownership in Asia, Oceania and Africa.<\/p>\n<p>Hubert Wieser, CEO of Nestl\u00e9 Purina Petcare for Asia, Oceania and Africa, commented, \u201cWith over 350 million domestic cats and dogs across AOA as well as a pet population that continues to grow, demand for high-quality pet nutrition is also increasing.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe health and wellbeing trend is being extended to pets, as they are increasingly seen as members of the family.
