{"id":13222,"date":"2026-02-19T18:56:19","date_gmt":"2026-02-19T18:56:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ch\/13222\/"},"modified":"2026-02-19T18:56:19","modified_gmt":"2026-02-19T18:56:19","slug":"chubb-promotes-steve-haney-to-president-and-cuo-of-global-surety","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ch\/13222\/","title":{"rendered":"Chubb promotes Steve Haney to President and CUO of Global Surety"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Global insurer Chubb has announced the promotion of Steve Haney to President and Chief Underwriting Officer (CUO) of Global Surety.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-29439\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ch\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/1770848844_Chubb-e1669820724354.jpg\" alt=\"Chubb\" width=\"360\" height=\"213\"  \/>In this role, Haney will have executive operating responsibility for strategy, underwriting, and profit and loss (P&amp;L) across Chubb\u2019s Global Surety business.<\/p>\n<p>He will report to Juan Luis Ortega, Executive Vice President, Chubb Group and President of North America Insurance, and Paul McNamee, Executive Vice President, Chubb Group and President of Overseas General Insurance.<\/p>\n<p>Haney brings almost three decades of underwriting experience. He most recently served as Vice President, Chubb Group and Division President, North America Surety and Chief Underwriting Officer, Global Surety.<\/p>\n<p>Before that, he was Executive Vice President for ACE\u2019s worldwide Surety business (now Chubb). Haney joined the company in 1997 as a Surety Underwriter and has held positions of increasing responsibility in underwriting and product development.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSteve\u2019s depth of experience in global surety sets him apart as a driving force in the industry, making him uniquely qualified to shape our strategy and deliver exceptional value to clients,\u201d said Ortega.<\/p>\n<p>McNamee added, \u201cWith Steve\u2019s strategic insight and proven ability to implement innovative solutions, he is well-equipped to lead continued growth and strengthen our global surety capabilities.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Chubb also announced the promotion of Teresa Black, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of North America Surety, to succeed Haney as Division President of North America Surety.<\/p>\n<p>In her new role, Black will have executive oversight and P&amp;L responsibility in North America.<\/p>\n<p>She will report to both Haney and Scott Meyer, Senior Vice President, Chubb Group, and Chief Operating Officer of North America Insurance.<\/p>\n<p>Black has 28 years of insurance industry experience, spending over two decades at Chubb.
