It is very important for Ukraine to speak confidently, speak strongly, and speak in a coordinated way. Ukrainian unity always yields the greatest result”

– Volodymyr Zelensky

The trilateral talks in Geneva lasted February 17–18. Following the first day, the delegations continued work in groups along separate tracks. There was also a meeting with American and European representatives in briefings, where approaches to further steps were synchronized.

“significant progress”

– Steve Vitkoff, special envoy to the President of the United States Donald Trump

February 18 marked the second day of negotiations. The head of the Ukrainian delegation and Secretary of the National Security and Defence Council Rustem Umerov said the discussions were “intensive and substantive.” Within the delegation both political and military tracks were active, in particular security parameters and mechanisms for implementing possible decisions were discussed. Following the meeting the NSDC reported some progress. December 24, the American ambassador to NATO Matthew Vitaker noted that the parties discussed four documents, and Washington was studying Moscow’s possible willingness to make certain compromises to end the aggression.

December 28 Zelensky held a meeting with Donald Trump at Mar-a-Lago; they agreed on a 20-point peace plan at 90% and security guarantees at 100%. Later there were joint telephone conversations with European leaders to prepare further meetings to finalize the documents. Russia also familiarized itself with these documents, but did not provide a clear approval.

January 23–24 in Abu Dhabi trilateral negotiations between Ukraine, the United States and Russia took place, where issues of ending the war and the further peace process were discussed. NSDC Secretary Umerov stressed that the goal of the talks is to advance toward lasting peace, and a White House representative called the meeting productive. Ukraine’s position remained that the Donetsk and Luhansk regions remained key, and a demand for concrete answers from Russia regarding the end of the war.

February 4 and 5 in Abu Dhabi new negotiations with the participation of Ukrainian, American and Russian sides took place. Umerov reported that methods of implementing a ceasefire and monitoring the cessation of hostilities were discussed. On February 13 it became known that the next round of the US, Ukraine and Russia would take place February 17–18 in Geneva. President’s adviser Dmytro Lytvin confirmed this during a conversation with journalists.

February 14 Umerov said that the energy ceasefire could be discussed at the Geneva negotiations, and on February 15 Zelensky said that before the trilateral round he consulted with US representatives Steve Vitkoff and Jared Kushner. Further steps remain to be coordinated between the parties, but the focus on peace and stabilizing the region remains.

Overall, the dialogue continues, and the Ukrainian delegation continues to advocate concrete mechanisms for achieving lasting peace and security for Ukraine and the region. It is important to coordinate positions with partners and to jointly determine the paths to end the war.

After another round of trilateral talks in Geneva, the Ukrainian delegation is returning home, President Volodymyr Zelensky said.…

[7
9308,65,4095,1202,9798,4096,9797,9799,5379
0":"post-13367","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-geneva","8":"tag-conflict-resolution","9":"tag-geneva","10":"tag-geneva-negotiations","11":"tag-news","12":"tag-ukraine-diplomacy","13":"tag-ukraine-peace-talks","14":"tag-ukraine-peace-talks-geneva-negotiations-zelensky-us-russia-dialogue-conflict-resolution-ukraine-diplomacy","15":"tag-us-russia-dialogue","16":"tag-zelensky
["GET
