{"id":14144,"date":"2026-02-20T13:46:07","date_gmt":"2026-02-20T13:46:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ch\/14144\/"},"modified":"2026-02-20T13:46:07","modified_gmt":"2026-02-20T13:46:07","slug":"qbe-to-sell-global-trade-credit-and-surety-unit-to-swiss-re","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ch\/14144\/","title":{"rendered":"QBE to sell global trade credit and surety unit to Swiss Re\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Swiss Re\u00a0has agreed to buy the global trade credit and surety business of Australian insurer QBE.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Swiss Re said QBE\u2019s portfolio is expected to bring in annual revenues of around US$200mn and will strengthen its offering to customers of its Corporate Solutions division.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>No financial details of the transaction, or future leadership of the combined\u00a0business, were disclosed.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gtreview.com\/news\/on-the-move\/swiss-re-makes-trade-commodities-and-surety-leadership-reshuffle\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Veronica Assandri Foldnes<\/a>\u00a0is currently Swiss Re\u2019s global head of commodity,\u00a0trade\u00a0and sovereign credit.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis acquisition marks an important milestone for Swiss Re Corporate Solutions,\u201d said Ivan Gonzales, the Zurich-headquartered company\u2019s head of corporate solutions.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt allows us to expand our offering in this attractive segment by strengthening our global credit and surety platform with a well-managed, profitable portfolio and a highly experienced team.
