HARTFORD, Ala. (WTVY) -A Hartford man died while walking along a Geneva County highway early this morning.<\/p>\n
County coroner Donny Adkinson identified the victim as 54-year-old Richard Williams Jr., whom Adkinson pronounced dead at the scene.<\/p>\n
In his statement, the coroner said that just before Williams was struck by a vehicle, police received a call from an eyewitness who said they observed a man walking on the road.<\/p>\n
The accident happened on Alabama Highway 52 in Hartford at 12:30 a.m.<\/p>\n
Several law enforcement agencies are continuing the investigation.<\/p>\n
