\tGrowth in investments continues<\/p>\n
Technology & Software, including\u00a0in particular\u00a0Artificial\u00a0Intelligence\u00a0&\u00a0Machine Learning\u00a0(AI &\u00a0ML),\u00a0continues\u00a0to\u00a0be the dominant\u00a0industry sector, accounting for\u00a026\u00a0percent of new\u00a0ETH\u00a0ventures, followed by\u00a0Biotech\u00a0& Pharmaceuticals,\u00a0which\u00a0makes\u00a0up\u00a015\u00a0percent. This surge in\u00a0AI companies is also\u00a0evident\u00a0in the\u00a0risk capital\u00a0investment\u00a0in\u00a0ventures\u00a0created at ETH Zurich. Across\u00a041\u00a0financing rounds reported\u00a0in 2025,\u00a0companies\u00a0created at\u00a0ETH Zurich\u00a0secured\u00a0540\u00a0million Swiss francs \u2013 up\u00a027\u00a0percent\u00a0from\u00a0the previous year. The\u00a0capital\u00a0raised\u00a0by ETH\u00a0ventures\u00a0in 12 of those\u00a041\u00a0financing rounds exceeded 10 million Swiss francs, with AI and robotics\u00a0companies\u00a0doing particularly well.\u00a0Auterion\u00a0AG, which develops software for drones, had the biggest success,\u00a0raising\u00a0103\u00a0million Swiss francs, followed by Beekeeper AG and\u00a0DeepJudge\u00a0AG, which secured around\u00a034\u00a0million\u00a0and 33 million\u00a0Swiss\u00a0francs,\u00a0respectively. Beekeeper AG later merged with\u00a0LumApps\u00a0SAS in July 2025, bringing the total value of the company to 860 million Swiss francs.<\/p>\n
Women accounting for 17\u00a0percent of founders<\/p>\n
The share of\u00a0female\u00a0founders has almost doubled over the\u00a0past ten years,\u00a0increasing\u00a0to 17\u00a0percent.
