He again stressed that Iran is not pursuing nuclear weapons and will not surrender its \u201cright to peaceful use of nuclear technology.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>US Accuses Iran of Nuclear Rebuilding Efforts<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1089\" data-end=\"1285\">In Washington, US Vice President JD Vance accused Iran of attempting to rebuild its nuclear programme following US attacks on Iranian nuclear facilities last year.\u00a0\u201cThe principle is very simple, Iran can\u2019t have a nuclear weapon,\u201d Vance said, adding that President Donald Trump prefers diplomacy but \u201chas other options as well.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1485\" data-end=\"1740\">The true condition of Iran\u2019s nuclear sites remains uncertain. While Trump has claimed the programme was\u00a0obliterated, inspectors from the\u00a0International Atomic Energy Agency have not been allowed to verify damage at Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan.<\/p>\n<p>Iran US Talk:\u00a0Ballistic Missile Issue a Major Sticking Point<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1793\" data-end=\"2006\">US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said the Geneva talks would mainly focus on Iran\u2019s nuclear activities but warned that Iran\u2019s ballistic missile programme is a \u201cbig, big problem.\u201d\u00a0Iran has rejected missile negotiations, with Araghchi stating that Iran\u2019s missiles are defensive and meant only to \u201cbuild deterrence and help us to defend ourselves.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Iran US Talk:\u00a0New US Sanctions and Military Build-Up<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2223\" data-end=\"2399\">The US Treasury has announced new sanctions against more than 30 individuals and entities accused of supporting Iran\u2019s oil sales, missile programme, and weapons production.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2401\" data-end=\"2682\">At the same time, the US has deployed aircraft carriers, warships, and advanced fighter jets to the Middle East.
