Switzerland approved funding for the modernization of Mykolaiv\u2019s water supply amounting to 1.7 million Swiss francs.<\/p>\n

\u201cSwitzerland is providing Mykolaiv with a new contribution of 1.7 million Swiss francs (about 95 million UAH) to support the stable operation of the water supply and wastewater systems\u201d<\/p>\n

Under the memorandum of understanding, the project was signed by the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) of Switzerland, the Mykolaiv City Council, Mykolaiv Vodokanal, and the Swiss company Elektrobedarf Troller.<\/p>\n
The goal of the partnership is to deploy photovoltaic systems with energy storage on municipal water supply facilities.<\/p>\n
As part of the project, solar panels and energy storage systems will be deployed at 11 Mykolaiv Vodokanal facilities.<\/p>\n
They expect that such modernization will ensure more stable operation of critical infrastructure even amid frequent power outages and shelling.<\/p>\n
About 426 thousand residents (approximately 85% of the population) will receive more reliable water supply services.<\/p>\n
The project is expected to run until March 2027.<\/p>\n
Under the 2025\u20132028 program, Switzerland plans to allocate 500 million francs to support Ukraine\u2019s recovery and reconstruction in partnership with the private Swiss sector.<\/p>\n
It was also previously reported about the reconstruction of water networks in Mykolaiv with Denmark\u2019s support.<\/p>\n
