VALDOSTA, Ga. (WCTV) – Four teenagers are behind bars after a verbal fight escalated into a shooting, according to a press release from the Valdosta Police Department. <\/p>\n
The incident unfolded on Friday, Feb. 27, at 11:15 p.m. at a home in the 700 block of Lausanne Drive, according to authorities. Police say a 16-year-old and his stepfather got into a verbal fight that evening. <\/p>\n

During the fight, the stepson allegedly contacted three of his friends, who arrived at the home and involved themselves the conflict. <\/p>\n
\u201cAs the stepfather attempted to leave the residence in a vehicle to get away from the situation, the vehicle that he was leaving in was shot several times, causing damage to the car,\u201d according to the VPD press release. <\/p>\n
One of the juveniles attempted to flee but was apprehended. Officers recovered a backpack that was dropped during the chase. The backpack reportedly contained two firearms and narcotics.<\/p>\n
The 16-year-old stepson, another 16-year-old, 17-year-old and 18-year-old Dimitrius Brabson were arrested, according to the police department. They are all charged with aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during a crime, among other charges, according to VPD. <\/p>\n
