(WITN) &#8211; A natural gas leak shut down a street in downtown New Bern this afternoon. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The city said the 400 block of Pollock Street, between Middle and Hancock, was shut down to all traffic because of the leak.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The leak was under the sidewalk in front of the Civic Theater.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Piedmont Natural Gas crews contained the leak, but the city said they ran into problems finalizing repairs.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The street reopened around 3:30 p.m.<\/p>\n<p class=\"copyright |\">Copyright 2026 WITN.
