{"id":27786,"date":"2026-03-08T21:34:08","date_gmt":"2026-03-08T21:34:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ch\/27786\/"},"modified":"2026-03-08T21:34:08","modified_gmt":"2026-03-08T21:34:08","slug":"man-utds-multi-club-model-explained-details-of-ineos-ownership-of-nice-and-fc-lausanne","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ch\/27786\/","title":{"rendered":"Man Utd&#8217;s multi-club model explained, details of Ineos ownership of Nice and FC Lausanne"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>   <a class=\"fw\" href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/preferences\/source?q=unitedinfocus.com \" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\"> <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"28\" height=\"28\" src=\"https:\/\/www.unitedinfocus.com\/wp-content\/themes\/grv-media\/img\/google-discover.svg\" alt=\"\"\/> Add as preferred source on Google <\/a>  <\/p>\n<p>Manchester United are the flagship of a multi-club network overseen by co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Ineos.<\/p>\n<p>It has been just over <a href=\"https:\/\/www.unitedinfocus.com\/opinion\/two-years-on-from-sir-jim-ratcliffes-takeover-deal-five-things-we-know-about-man-united-owners\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">two years since the Ineos takeover at Manchester United<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.unitedinfocus.com\/tag\/sir-jim-ratcliffe\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Sir Jim Ratcliffe\u2019s<\/a> co-ownership of the club has introduced a new string of sister clubs.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.unitedinfocus.com\/opinion\/sir-jim-ratcliffe-bets-against-chelsea-ownership-model-with-175m-man-united-gamble\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Ratcliffe also owns Nice<\/a> in Ligue 1 as well as Swiss Super League side FC Lausanne. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.unitedinfocus.com\/news\/inside-the-chaos-at-sir-jim-ratcliffes-ogc-nice-as-man-united-owner-sees-1-75bn-deal-collapse\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">financial issues in French football<\/a> are one of the driving forces behind Ratcliffe\u2019s desire to sell.<\/p>\n<p>But the first club added to the Ineos portfolio is Swiss club FC Lausanne, who were acquired by Ratcliffe in 2017.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.unitedinfocus.com\/news\/lausanne-club-statement-shows-man-utd-are-making-use-of-ineos-biggest-advantage\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Lausanne have worked closely with United<\/a>, including a trial week for Red Devils youngsters and several loan deals to the Swiss club.<\/p>\n<p>Lausanne are currently eighth in the Swiss Super League.<\/p>\n<p>What percentage of the clubs do Ineos own?<\/p>\n<p>Following his initial takeover and a further \u00a3300m investment, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.unitedinfocus.com\/news\/sir-jim-ratcliffes-stance-on-selling-man-united-stake-as-qatar-takeover-update-shared\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Ratcliffe now owns a 29% stake in United<\/a>, but is granted full sporting control by majority owners, the Glazer family.<\/p>\n<p>There are <a href=\"https:\/\/www.unitedinfocus.com\/news\/inside-the-clause-the-glazers-can-now-trigger-to-drag-ineos-into-full-man-united-takeover\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">drag-along rights<\/a>\u00a0attached to Ratcliffe\u2019s takeover deal which means the American owners can force Ratcliffe to complete a full sale to a third party, in case he can\u2019t buy out the Glazers.<\/p>\n<p>Ineos own 100% of Nice and Lausanne, giving Ratcliffe full control over both clubs.<\/p>\n<p>However, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.unitedinfocus.com\/news\/finance-expert-explains-what-sir-jim-ratcliffe-selling-ogc-nice-would-mean-for-manchester-united\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Nice have been put into a blind trust<\/a> by Ratcliffe to stop any conflict of interest if they are competing in the same European competitions as United or any Ineos-owned clubs.<\/p>\n<p> Are you happy with Ineos and Sir Jim Ratcliffe?
