{"id":29735,"date":"2026-03-11T09:30:42","date_gmt":"2026-03-11T09:30:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ch\/29735\/"},"modified":"2026-03-11T09:30:42","modified_gmt":"2026-03-11T09:30:42","slug":"geneva-to-host-international-conference-on-sikhs-and-the-un","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ch\/29735\/","title":{"rendered":"Geneva to host international conference on Sikhs and the UN"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Within the framework of the 61st session of the UN Human Rights Council, an international conference titled \u201cCombating transnational repression by the Government of India: Sikh resistance and the UN\u201d will be held in Geneva, Switzerland, organized by the Baku Initiative Group, the Baku Initiative Group told <a href=\"https:\/\/apa.az\" class=\"hyperlink\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">APA<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Representatives of the Sikh diaspora living in Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, and the United States, as well as victims of the repressive policy of the Indian government, will participate in the event.<\/p>\n<p>At the conference, India\u2019s policy towards ethnic minorities, threats against Sikh activists and diaspora organizations, as well as the possibilities of discussing these issues at the UN level, will be discussed.
