He missed all of 2024 with a torn ACL, but bounced back in 2025 with 8.5 sacks in 17 games.

He was a first-round pick of the Broncos in 2018, and would be named to two Pro Bowls with the team, first in 2020 and again in 2022.

Bills officially refer to Bradley Chubb as an outside linebacker, which makes sense given his skill set and stature for Jim Leonhard’s defensive scheme. https://t.co/cbetnFu9xb

— Andy Young (@AndyYoungTV) March 12, 2026

Chubb immediately becomes the Bills’ go-to option in the pass rush alongside Gregory Rousseau. Other defensive ends who played for the Bills last season and are now free agents include Joey Bosa and A.J. Epenesa. Bosa finished with five sacks in completing his one-year contract with Buffalo.

Four years ago, the Bills made a splash by signing Von Miller, Chubb’s former Broncos teammate. Miller was cut after three seasons, during which a knee injury limited him to 14 sacks over 36 games.

Chubb joins a defense being remade under coordinator Jim Leonhard, who takes over in the aftermath of head coach Sean McDermott’s dismissal in January. Chubb is projected to start on the right side opposite Greg Rousseau. Buffalo’s defense also returns Michael Hoecht, who was limited to playing just two games last year before rupturing his Achilles tendon.

Signing Chubb away from the rival Dolphins wasn’t the only move Bills general manager Brandon Beane made when the league year began at 4 p.m. Wednesday.
