Nestl\u00e9 will lay off 16,000 employees worldwide as recently-appointed CEO Philipp Navratil looks to turn around the world\u2019s largest food company.\u00a0<\/p>\n
In a bid to cut costs, Nestl\u00e9 will slash 12,000 white-collar jobs along with an additional 4,000 manufacturing and supply-chain positions, reducing 6% of its global workforce over the next two years, the company announced<\/a> Thursday. Some white-collar roles will be automated as the firm targets \u201coperational efficiency,\u201d the company said in the statement.<\/p>\n \u201cWe are transforming how we work,\u201d Navratil wrote<\/a> in a LinkedIn<\/a> post that also shared his company\u2019s earnings report and layoff announcement<\/a>. \u201cWe are evolving and will simplify our organization and automate our processes.\u201d<\/p>\n For the first nine months of 2025, Nestl\u00e9\u2019s sales fell 1.9% to around $82.8 billion, compared to the same period last year.
