On Wednesday January 14, a lift servicing several of the resort\u2019s high-altitude runs malfunctioned while transporting skiers up the mountain, as Connexion France <a href=\"https:\/\/www.connexionfrance.com\/news\/56-skiers-stuck-on-chair-lift-for-over-an-hour-in-french-alps\/764334\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">reports<\/a>. In all, 56 guests were left trapped on the lift, some very far off the ground.<\/p>\n<p>The local mountain rescue unit was notified, and they mobilized two rescue teams to begin evacuating skiers.
