(WITN) &#8211; After MumFest was cancelled this weekend due to weather, New Bern continues to see flooding from recent rainfall from a coastal low. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Residents and visitors woke up to flooded roadways Sunday morning, with water knocking at the door of much of New Bern\u2019s coastline. High winds and rain continue to impact the area.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cI think it\u2019s unbelievable,\u201d said Kelley Broadribb, a New Bern resident. \u201cI DoorDash a lot, I had to get a feel for what the roads were like and what the water level is right now.\u201d <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Driving conditions in low areas posed the biggest threats for those traveling in and around New Bern, Trent Woods, Bridgeton, and River Bend. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The city says several low-lying spots were impassable due to north-eastern winds and flooding. They advised avoiding Oaks Road at the bridge, Council Bluff Green along East Front Street, and areas along Renny\u2019s Creek.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"figure-img img-fluid mx-auto d-block\" alt=\"New Bern flooding\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ch\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/DIA6VOUBKRENPBQ335AJU2XN3Y.jpg\" width=\"980\" height=\"735\" \/>New Bern flooding(WITN)<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Union Point Park remained closed due to flooding.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Despite the conditions, many were still able to make the best of the day.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">People could be seen wading through the waters throughout the day, and some took part in windsurfing as well. <\/p>\n<p class=\"copyright |\">Copyright 2025 WITN.
