(WTVD) &#8212; Novartis is expanding its manufacturing footprint in Durham and Wake counties.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">Governor Josh Stein says the company, that develops and manufactures innovative medicines, will expand its pharmaceutical operations in the state.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">&#8220;North Carolina continues to lead in advanced pharmaceutical manufacturing, and Novartis&#8217; expansion in the Triangle reflects our state&#8217;s talent and innovative spirit,&#8221; said Governor Stein.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">The company expects to create 700 new jobs by the end of 2030 in Durham and Wake counties.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">That will be on top of a $771 million dollars in Durham and Morrisville.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">The expansion combines new construction with the renovation of existing facilities across three sites.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC eTIW sUzSN \">While salaries for the new positions will vary, the average annual salary is expected to be $111,161, which exceeds the Durham County average of $97,531 and the Wake County average of $76,643.<\/p>\n<p>Copyright \u00a9 2026 WTVD-TV.
