Markets had a mixed start to trading on Tuesday, as Iran continued to attack key energy infrastructure in the ongoing conflict with Israel and the US.<\/p>\n
The UK\u2019s FTSE 100 (^FTSE<\/a>) advanced 0.3%, while Germany\u2019s DAX (^GDAXI<\/a>) fell about 0.3% and France’s CAC 40 (^FCHI<\/a>) dipped 0.1%. The pan-European STOXX 600 (^STOXX<\/a>) also fell about 0.1%.<\/p>\n Over in the US, futures linked to the Dow Jones Industrial Average (YM=F<\/a>) slid 0.3%. Contracts tied to the S&P 500 (ES=F<\/a>) and Nasdaq 100 (NQ=F<\/a>) fell 0.4% and 0.5%, respectively.<\/p>\n Here\u2019s our daily roundup of the key trending stocks on Tuesday.<\/p>\n Jensen Huang, CEO of Nvidia (NVDA<\/a>), kicked off the chipmaker\u2019s GTC 2026 event on Monday with a keynote address<\/a>, in which he forecast that the company\u2019s flagship artificial intelligence (AI) processors would help deliver $1tn (\u00a3750bn) in revenue through 2027.<\/p>\n Huang also announced the launch of the new NemoClaw stack open source AI agent platform OpenClaw, among other company updates.<\/p>\n Matt Britzman, senior equity analyst at Hargreaves Lansdown, said: \u201cNvidia just told the market to think much, much bigger.\u201d<\/p>\n Read more: Stocks and oil rise as Iran attacks energy supplies again<\/a><\/p>\n He said that the $1tn revenue forecast implied \u201cat least $500bn in data centre revenue in 2027\u201d.<\/p>\n \u201cAs usual, Wall Street consensus is well below that number, having around 30% total revenue growth pencilled in for 2027,\u201d said Britzman, who owns shares in Nvidia. \u201cThat needs to come closer to 45% to get anywhere near Jensen\u2019s new guidance and push past 50% to match our numbers.\u201d<\/p>\n Nvidia shares closed Monday\u2019s session up 1.7% but were little changed in pre-market trading on Tuesday morning.<\/p>\n Swiss drugmaker Roche (ROG.SW<\/a>) announced on Monday that it was expanding its collaboration with Nvidia<\/a>, building on its AI infrastructure, to accelerate the development of new therapeutics and diagnostic solutions.<\/p>\n Roche said that it now operates the pharmaceutical industry\u2019s largest hybrid-cloud AI factory, having deployed an additional 2,176 Nvidia Blackwell graphics processing units (GPUs), taking its total to more than 3,500 chips across sites in the US and Europe.<\/p>\n Read more: Oil jumps above $100 as Iran steps up Gulf attacks<\/a><\/p>\n Wafaa Mamilli, chief digital and technology officer at Roche, said: \u201cIn healthcare, time is the most critical variable; every day saved means a life-changing medicine or diagnostic reaches a patient sooner.<\/p>\n \u201cOur AI factory combines world-class computing power with Roche\u2019s scientific expertise to embed AI across the entire value chain \u2014 from discovery to development, manufacturing and commercialisation \u2014 transforming how we deliver the next generation of medicines and diagnostics solutions.\u201d<\/p>\n In the UK, shares in building supplies company Travis Perkins (TPK.L<\/a>) dipped just below the flatline on Tuesday morning, after reporting a fall in profit.<\/p>\n The FTSE 250-listed (^FTMC<\/a>) firm posted revenue of \u00a34.57bn ($6.09bn) for the 2025 financial year, compared to \u00a34.61bn for the previous year.<\/p>\n Adjusted operating profit came in at \u00a3133m for the year, which was down 12.5% from 2024. The company posted a loss after tax of \u00a3176m, which was 128.6% higher than the \u00a377m loss reported in 2024.<\/p>\n Stocks: Create your watchlist and portfolio<\/a><\/p>\n Adam Vettese, market analyst at eToro, said: \u201cTravis Perkins\u2019 full-year results point to a business that is stabilising, but still far from recovery and the market\u2019s negative reaction reflects that.<\/p>\n While management has done a credible job on cost control, cash generation and reducing debt, profits remain anchored at a low level following the sharp downturn in 2024,\u201d he said. \u201cIn effect, this is not a growth story yet, but a company that has stopped getting worse.\u201d<\/p>\n Another FTSE 250-listed stock on focus on Tuesday is home improvement retailer Wickes (WIX.L<\/a>), with shares climbing 2.3% on the back of its full-year results.<\/p>\n Wickes reported total revenue of \u00a31.64bn for 2025, up 5.9% year-on-year, while adjusted pre-tax profit grew 14.4% to \u00a349.9m.
