Berlin-based independent producer\/distributor Dcm<\/a> has acquired leading Swiss indie distributor Ascot Elite Entertainment, the two companies announced Thursday.<\/p>\n

In a deal between Swiss-born Dcm founders Dario Suter<\/a>, Christoph Daniel<\/a>, Marc Schmidheiny<\/a> and Joel Brandeis<\/a>, and managing director Stephanie Candinas<\/a>, and Ascot Elite owners Karin G. Dietrich<\/a>, Ralph S. Dietrich<\/a> and Stephan Giger<\/a>, Dcm will take full control of Ascot<\/a>. Candinas will take over executive management of the Swiss company, with Giger remaining in place as co-managing director for a transitional period.<\/p>\n

The new merged company will operate under the Dcm brand.<\/p>\n

The family-owned Ascot Elite, founded in 1928, is Switzerland\u2019s leading independent film distributor, handling the local release of such features as Marty<\/a> Supreme<\/a>, The Housemaid<\/a>, and No Other Choice<\/a> in the territory.
