\"\"voestalpine Railway Systems has secured orders totaling EUR 500 million to supply rails, switches, signaling technology, and monitoring applications to national railway operators in Germany and Switzerland.<\/p>\n

The contracts cover projects by Deutsche Bahn (DB) and Swiss Federal Railways (SBB) and confirm the Austrian company\u2019s position in the railway infrastructure market, following its participation in projects such as the new Koralmbahn <\/a>line in Austria and Egypt\u2019s first high-speed railway line.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are pleased that these orders continue our long-standing partnership with DB and SBB and that we can contribute to the modernization and digitalization of Europe\u2019s railway infrastructure with our products and systems,\u201d said Herbert Eibensteiner, CEO of voestalpine AG.<\/p>\n

Rails and switches for major projects in Germany<\/p>\n

In Germany, voestalpine Railway Systems will supply premium rails and switch components to be used in projects such as the modernization of Frankfurt Central Station and the modernization of high-capacity corridors, including the Hamburg\u2013Berlin line.<\/a><\/p>\n

The company will also provide support, training, and maintenance services, as well as logistics for long welded rails and pre-assembled switch systems, delivered directly to the construction site.<\/p>\n

voestalpine<\/a> was also recently involved in the modernization of the Riedbahn line between Frankfurt and Mannheim, one of the busiest lines in Europe. According to the company, most of the switches installed as part of this project were equipped with voestalpine technology.<\/p>\n

Axle counting technology for the SBB network<\/p>\n

In Switzerland, the company signed a framework agreement with SBB for up to 20 years to support the digitization of the railway network.<\/p>\n

The contract includes the delivery of modern axle counting systems, used to determine whether a section of track is clear or occupied, thereby helping to increase safety on the network.<\/p>\n

In addition, voestalpine will provide services for diagnostic systems and cybersecurity solutions, thereby strengthening its position in the field of standardized EULYNX signaling technologies.<\/p>\n

\u201cDigital signaling, monitoring, and diagnostic systems are crucial for the performance and safety of critical railway infrastructure,\u201d said Franz Kainersdorfer, a member of the management team of the railway systems division at voestalpine.<\/p>\n
