The Embassy of Switzerland in the Philippines, together with the Swiss Cultural Fund and in collaboration with the Department of Education, successfully hosted the third edition of the Day of the Future on Nov. 13, 2025. This annual initiative, inspired by Switzerland\u2019s Nationaler Zukunftstag, continues to open doors for young learners to explore diverse career opportunities and gain firsthand experience in professional environments.<\/p>\n

The Day of the Future invites students ages 11 to 16 to immerse themselves in real-world work settings, simulating what it is like to step into adult professional roles. Through workplace tours, interactive demonstrations, and mentorship sessions, learners are encouraged to discover new interests and broaden their horizons for future career paths.<\/p>\n

This year\u2019s program brought together Swiss companies operating in the Philippines, including Endress+Hauser, Roche Philippines, Holcim Philippines, Novartis Philippines, SGS, Partners Group, and Sateco. Each organization designed a full-day program tailored to showcase their industries, from science and engineering to pharmaceuticals, finance, and advanced manufacturing.<\/p>\n

Roche Philippines, a global leader in pharmaceuticals and diagnostics, highlighted its commitment to personalized health care, particularly in oncology, ophthalmology, and women\u2019s health. Students were guided through the company\u2019s departments by Ela Riva S. Reaviles, Roche health systems partner, ensuring a smooth and educational experience.<\/p>\n

Pauleen Ocampo shared details on Mata Matters: A vision of care for Filipinos with Roche partners.<\/p>\n

Lecturers and speakers including Maria Nezette Briones, Amormio \u201cMon\u201d C. Santiago, Carlo Cabanlig, Pauleen Ocampo, Via Ba\u00f1ares, Ela Riva Reaviles, Nathan Revilla, Suzzane Daguno, Katrina Balaga, Cris Adaling, Alvin Cabahug, and Dr. Wasiq Rahman shared insights into Roche\u2019s innovations, treatments, and contributions to improving health care access for Filipinos.<\/p>\n

The Philippine-based activities were conducted in parallel with programs in Switzerland, reinforcing the shared commitment of both countries to empower the next generation. The initiative underscores the importance of vocational training, a cornerstone of Switzerland\u2019s globally recognized education system, while adapting it to the local context.<\/p>\n

Interns from the University of San Carlos shared insightful information on discovering regulatory affairs and quality assurance.<\/p>\n

Representatives such as Candy Japlos, economic officer of the Swiss Embassy, and Steven Arevalo of the Department of Education joined students from Pasig City Science High School, a school known for its strong focus on science and technology. Their participation highlighted the collaborative spirit of the event and its mission to inspire Filipino youth to pursue diverse career paths.<\/p>\n

Now in its third year in the Philippines, the Day of the Future continues to expand its reach and impact. By connecting Swiss expertise with Filipino potential, the program serves as a meaningful bridge between cultures, fostering curiosity, ambition, and confidence among young learners.<\/p>\n

As the initiative grows, it remains a testament to the power of education and international collaboration in shaping brighter futures for the next generation.<\/p>\n
