NEW BERN, N.C. (WBTV) – The iconic Budweiser Clydesdales are coming to a historic North Carolina city this week.<\/p>\n

The massive horses will be in downtown New Bern on Friday, March 27.<\/p>\n

From 4-6 p.m., the Clydesdales will make two loops<\/a> around the city\u2019s downtown, stopping for pictures at Union Point Park, the birthplace of Pepsi and New Bern City Hall.<\/p>\n

The community can come out and see the horses free of charge.<\/p>\n

Clydesdales have been associated with Anheuser-Busch for more than 90 years<\/a>, dating all the way back to 1933, when thousands of people watched a six-horse team deliver beer to New York City to celebrate the end of Prohibition.<\/p>\n

Nearly a century later, Clydesdales remain a American cultural icon, especially when it comes to one of the country\u2019s most popular traditions — the Super Bowl.<\/p>\n

Budweiser commercials starring the famed horses were named the best<\/a> in each of the past two Super Bowls.<\/p>\n

The city of New Bern has fame in its own right as one of the oldest communities in North Carolina. It also served as the state\u2019s first capital before that title was moved to Raleigh in 1792.<\/p>\n

New Bern is near the North Carolina coast, along the Neuse River.<\/p>\n
