ETH Zurich confirms its leading global position. For the seventh time in a row, it has been ranked as the best university in the world in the QS World University Rankings by subject in the following three subject areas: Earth and Marine Sciences, Geology and Geophysics. The rankings are compiled on an annual basis by the British analytics company Quacquarelli Symonds (QS).\u00a0<\/p>\n
ETH is also excellently positioned in other disciplines. Compared with last year, there has been a significant improvement in the university\u2019s ranking in Environmental Science: from positions in the region of 7 and 8 in previous years to fourth place now. ETH also comes fourth in Architecture and Built Environment and in Civil and Structural Engineering.\u00a0<\/p>\n
After ETH briefly dropped out of the top 10 in Materials Sciences in last year\u2019s rankings, it has now returned and stands in tenth place. In the discipline of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, however, it falls just short of a place in the top 10 (having come eighth last year, it is now in 11th place).\u00a0<\/p>\n
Accordingly, ETH Zurich continues to rank among the 10 best universities in the world in a total of 16 subject areas.\u00a0<\/p>\n
