Andrew Bird\u00a0will be rejoining UBS as\u00a0head of global wealth management (GWM) Australia, effective\u00a027 April 2026, according to an internal memo.<\/p>\n
\u201cAustralia is a critical pillar of our APAC growth strategy, and we continue to increase our footprint, invest in talents and on\u2011the\u2011ground capabilities to fully capture the significant growth potential of the market,\u201d it said.<\/p>\n
Bird will be based in Sydney and report to\u00a0Jin Yee Young, co-head GWM APAC\u00a0and locally to\u00a0Nick Hughes\u00a0and\u00a0Greg Peirce, co-country heads of Australasia.<\/p>\n
He will join the\u00a0Global Wealth Management Southeast Asia, Japan, India and Australia management team, as well as the Australia country management forum. \u00a0<\/p>\n
Bird has over three decades of experience and leadership across wealth management and institutional markets, with a strong track record in business building, risk management and talent development.<\/p>\n
During the past decade, Bird has led National Australia Bank\u2019s wealth management arm, JBWere, overseeing\u00a0teams covering high-net-worth clients in six cities.
