Reuters report that Jamal Musiala was rested as he continues to manage an ankle issue, while recent Aleksandar Pavlović, Felix Nmecha and Jamie Leweling are all absent. That leaves Nagelsmann with decisions to make in midfield and attack, even if the broader shape of the squad is becoming clearer.

Nagelsmann has made clear what he expects from the occasion. “Switzerland are a formidable opponent less than three months before the tournament begins and they will demand everything of us,” he said in December’s press conference, adding that this is not yet a final World Cup squad, even if March offers strong clues about his thinking.

For Germany, the game is less about the result alone and more about rhythm, structure and selection. Switzerland’s organisation and physical edge should provide a meaningful test, and with the World Cup now in sight, Nagelsmann will want to see control in possession, balance without the ball and a side that looks closer to tournament-ready.

Switzerland’s organisation should provide a useful test, and with the World Cup drawing closer, Germany will want a controlled performance as much as a positive result.

GGFN | Felipe

Germany travel to Basel on Friday to face Switzerland at St. Jakob-Park in another key World Cup warm-up…

[4
23041,15833,23042,1344,22520,23043,23045,23039,23044,17,15704,23040
0":"post-39394","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-switzerland","8":"tag-aleksandar-pavlovic","9":"tag-bayern-munich","10":"tag-felix-nmecha","11":"tag-germany","12":"tag-jamal-musiala","13":"tag-jamie-leweling","14":"tag-jonas-urbig","15":"tag-julian-nagelsmann","16":"tag-lennart-karl","17":"tag-switzerland","18":"tag-test","19":"tag-world-cup-squad
["GET
