Kong has reached a five-year collaboration arrangement with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chinadailyhk.com\/hk\/article\/608093\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Art Basel<\/a>, consolidating the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chinadailyhk.com\/hk\/article\/582310\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">special administrative region\u2019s status<\/a> as the exclusive regional host city.<\/p>\n<p>Apart from holding the annual fair each March, Art Basel Hong Kong will continue to promote public art and education in the city and support the bureau in developing strategies to further enhance the local art ecosystem and market.<\/p>\n<p>The agreement aims to deepen the SAR government\u2019s partnership with the world-renowned art fair over the next five years, the government said in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.info.gov.hk\/gia\/general\/202603\/25\/P2026032500255.htm\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">a statement<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>RELATED ARTICLES<\/p>\n<p>The long-term partnership underscores the HKSAR government\u2019s commitment to cementing the city\u2019s status as a global hub for premium arts trading, Secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism Rosanna Law Shuk-pui said while speaking at the opening reception of Art Basel Hong Kong 2026 on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>The collaboration reinforces the city\u2019s role as a premier center for international cultural exchange between East and West, she added.<\/p>\n<p>Over the next five years, the government and Art Basel will work together to elevate the city\u2019s world-class high-end arts trading platform and showcase the brilliance of local and Asian talent to a global audience.<\/p>\n<p>IN PICTURES: <a beyond<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Expressing her confidence that this partnership will extend beyond the walls of the exhibition hall, the secretary said Art Basel Hong Kong has always been a powerful engine for the city\u2019s mega-event economy, drawing art lovers, collectors, and industry leaders from around the world to experience the unique energy of Hong Kong.<\/p>\n<p>The bureau highlighted that Art Basel Hong Kong, since its debut in 2013, has become a flagship event and a key fixture on the city\u2019s international event calendar.<\/p>\n<p>In 2025, a five-day fair featured 240 galleries from 42 countries and regions, attracting over 86,000 visitors, with more than half travelling from outside Hong Kong specifically for the event.<\/p>\n<p>Looking ahead, the bureau said its close collaboration with Art Basel Hong Kong will continue to foster the growth of the cultural and arts industries, delivering sustained economic and social benefits for the
