{"id":39558,"date":"2026-03-27T06:43:07","date_gmt":"2026-03-27T06:43:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ch\/39558\/"},"modified":"2026-03-27T06:43:07","modified_gmt":"2026-03-27T06:43:07","slug":"geneva-becomes-worlds-capital-of-ai-in-july-for-itus-ai-for-good-global-summit-5","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ch\/39558\/","title":{"rendered":"Geneva becomes world&#8217;s capital of AI in July for ITU&#8217;s AI for Good Global Summit"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>GENEVA,\u00a0March 25, 2026\u00a0\/PRNewswire\/ \u2014 As governments accelerate strategies on artificial intelligence, sovereign AI and AI diffusion across economies and societies, the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) will host the seventh\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/aiforgood.itu.int\/summit26\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">AI for Good Global Summit<\/a>\u00a0from 7 to 10 July 2026 at Geneva\u2019s Palexpo convention centre.<\/p>\n<p>Over four days, leaders from government, industry, academia, civil society and the technical community will work together at AI for Good to guide the future of AI.<\/p>\n<p>AI for Good will be held back-to-back with the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.un.org\/global-dialogue-ai-governance\/en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Global Dialogue on AI Governance<\/a>, convened by the United Nations General Assembly and facilitated by UN Secretary-General Ant\u00f3nio Guterres. Taking place at Palexpo from 6 to 7 July, the Global Dialogue is supported by a joint secretariat that includes the Executive Office of the Secretary General, ITU, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and the United Nations Office for Digital and Emerging Technologies (ODET), with ITU and UNESCO leading the coordination.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs artificial intelligence moves from strategy to real-world deployment, countries need the skills, solutions, and international standards for AI to work for everyone,\u201d said ITU Secretary-General Doreen Bogdan-Martin. \u201cThrough AI for Good, ITU helps turn AI breakthroughs into practical ways to improve lives. We are also pleased to\u00a0work with our partners on the inaugural UN Global Dialogue on AI Governance where\u00a0Member States and stakeholders will exchange perspectives on the policies shaping AI\u2019s future.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The AI for Good Global Summit is organized by ITU \u2013 the United Nations agency for digital technologies \u2013 with over 50 UN partners and co-convened by Switzerland.<\/p>\n<p>The Summit is the flagship platform for showcasing and helping scale up AI applications in areas from healthcare and education to food security, disaster risk reduction and misinformation, particularly in developing countries.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are delighted to once again co-convene with ITU the AI for Good Global Summit in Geneva, a central location for discussing and showcasing advances in artificial intelligence,\u201d said Albert R\u00f6sti, Swiss Federal Councillor and Head of the Federal Department of the Environment, Transport, Energy and Communication.<\/p>\n<p>Early\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/aiforgood.itu.int\/summit26\/speakers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">speakers<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/aiforgood.itu.int\/summit26\/programme\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">programme<\/a>\u00a0details are now available, offering a first look at the global leaders shaping this year\u2019s Summit, with further announcements to follow.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDay Zero\u201d of the AI for Good Global Summit on 7 July will feature live demos, interactive exhibits, startup competitions and hands-on workshops. The summit\u2019s Centre Stage officially opens on 8 July.<\/p>\n<p>Programme highlights include:<\/p>\n<p>Multistakeholder dialogue on AI standards and policy\u00a0\u2013 exploring frontier challenges including agentic AI security, AI testing and benchmarking, misinformation and deepfakes, quantum technology applications and use cases, and AI infrastructure and energy demands.<\/p>\n<p>Global innovation competitions and awards\u00a0\u2013 including the AI for Good Innovation Factory Grand Finale and machine-learning challenges on edge AI, TinyML, and space AI computing as well as the AI for Good Impact Awards and Robotics Youth Challenge Grand Finale.<\/p>\n<p>Technology demos and interactive expo\u00a0\u2013 featuring cutting-edge systems in AI, robotics, embodied AI, brain-computer interfaces, autonomous vehicles and quantum technologies.<\/p>\n<p>AI skills and capacity-building programmes\u00a0\u2013 with training sessions delivered by AI Skills Coalition partners, hands-on workshops and a dynamic Youth Zone supporting the next generation of innovators.<\/p>\n<p>Creative and cultural programmes\u00a0\u2013 highlighting the intersection of AI and creativity with the AI for Good Film Festival, the Canvas of the Future AI Art Competition, and AI-enabled artistic performances.
