Leeds United<\/a> winger Noah Okafor has been left out of Switzerland\u2019s squad against Norway today due to injury precaution.<\/p>\n

United are back in action this weekend away to West Ham in the FA Cup.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Daniel Farke will be welcoming internationals back soon at Thorp Arch, with more national fixtures taking place this evening for a core group of the squad.<\/p>\n

Noah Okafor left out of Switzerland clash vs Norway due to injury precaution<\/p>\n

For Noah Okafor<\/a>, he wasn\u2019t initially set to be part of Murat Yakin\u2019s Switzerland squad this month.\u00a0<\/p>\n

It\u2019s well documented that Okafor isn\u2019t favoured by the 51-year-old<\/a>. But, he was drafted into this squad after injuries elsewhere<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Importantly, Okafor had only returned to action off the bench for Leeds in the home clash with Brentford just before this break, so clearly not at full fitness after his hamstring issue<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Unused against Anton Stach\u2019s Germany, tonight\u2019s clash against Norway now sees Okafor completely absent from the squad.<\/p>\n

The Swiss national team<\/a> have issued an update on social media, clearing up his and Granit Xhaka\u2019s omission as a precaution due to concerns over existing injuries \u2013 referring to Okafor\u2019s efforts to get back to fitness presumably.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cGranit Xhaka and Noah Okafor are not in the squad today. Both are returning from an injury; this is a precautionary measure. The decision was made in consultation between the players and the coaching staff,\u201d the statement reads.<\/p>\n

Should Leeds United fans panic as Switzerland suggest injury concern for Noah Okafor?<\/p>\n

You see the word \u2018injury\u2019 in the same sentence as Okafor and you immediately panic. However, I don\u2019t think this is anything to be truly worried about, in my opinion.<\/p>\n

Two things are probably true: Okafor isn\u2019t at 100% yet. And, Yakin isn\u2019t fully convinced to throw him into the lineup anyway.<\/p>\n

If he\u2019s not up to top speed, Yakin isn\u2019t going to play him and risk further injury, because he wasn\u2019t going to pick him anyway until someone else got injured.<\/p>\n

I\u2019m not sure I\u2019d be starting him in the FA Cup this weekend, though.<\/p>\n
