(WITN) &#8211; Nearly 2,000 customers were without power for several hours in New Bern Tuesday night.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The outage was first reported around 6:40 p.m. and stretched from Colony Estates into downtown and out past James City.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Crews worked to restore power and had most customers back in service by 10:00 p.m. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Around 2:30 a.m. on Wednesday, New Bern officials said all power was restored. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">They say the cause of the outage was due to a bad underground cable on the James City side of the grid. <\/p>\n<p class=\"copyright |\">Copyright 2025 WITN.
