{"id":4827,"date":"2026-02-13T14:54:06","date_gmt":"2026-02-13T14:54:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ch\/4827\/"},"modified":"2026-02-13T14:54:06","modified_gmt":"2026-02-13T14:54:06","slug":"quarter-finals-spot-on-the-line-between-bern-and-brynas","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ch\/4827\/","title":{"rendered":"Quarter-Finals Spot on the Line Between Bern and Bryn\u00e4s"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In a battle between two teams which excel in defence, it was\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.chl.hockey\/en\/teams\/d782924e733c817e5af717fd\/sc-bern#\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">SC Bern<\/a>\u00a0holding on to a one-goal aggregate lead against their Swedish opponents\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.chl.hockey\/en\/teams\/199734faffe3b90bf3ecccce\/brynas-if#\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Bryn\u00e4s IF<\/a>\u00a0in a 2-1 contest that pitted two of the league&#8217;s best backends against each other.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"#select_team=0&amp;select_team-schedule=0&amp;playerId=bb8d8ec40c7c8fc8bd81deff\">Marco Lehmann<\/a> netted Bern&#8217;s second on the night to give the Swiss the slight edge heading into the Round of 16 Return Game in Switzerland, but\u00a0Bryn\u00e4s are still very much alive.<\/p>\n<p>The Swedes&#8217; stats on home ice are much kinder than their results away from the Monitor ERP Arena, but going up against a team in SC Bern was bound to be problematic and their Swiss challengers showed them why.<\/p>\n<p>Despite letting in a powerplay tally, Bern were able to frustrate\u00a0Bryn\u00e4s&#8217; offence later in the game &#8211; an all-too familiar storyline for the Swedes as they&#8217;ve only scored an average of 2.14 goals for per game.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Their lack of scoring notwithstanding,\u00a0Bryn\u00e4s have managed to keep contests close thanks to their blue line doing the heavy lifting, as they are tied for second fewest markers allowed with 1.71 goals against per game.
