McDonald\u2019s<\/a> is considered a pretty cheap place to eat in the UK, with food <\/a>starting from just \u00a31.19 on the Saver Menu.<\/p>\n And while there have been noticeable price rises<\/a> over the last few years, it\u2019s still possible to feed a family there without spending a small fortune.<\/p>\n However, the same can\u2019t be said for one other location, where the cost of meals never fails to stun visitors.<\/p>\n A branch of the popular fast food chain<\/a> in Switzerland<\/a> is regularly touted as the \u2018most expensive\u2019 McDonald\u2019s, as customers have been known to easily spend between \u00a340 and \u00a350 on lunch for just two people.<\/p>\n \t\t It can be found in Zermatt, a village and ski resort in the Swiss Alps, known as the gateway to the Matterhorn \u2013 one of the highest ski areas in the world.<\/p>\n The McDonald\u2019s itself is housed inside a charming Alpine chalet-style building, with wooden walls inside that some say give it a \u2018cosy log cabin feel\u2019.\u00a0<\/p>\n Most things on the menu are the same, but as it\u2019s a different country, there are a few products that we don\u2019t have here, such as The M burger, which features two Swiss beef patties, melted cheese, lettuce, and crispy onions.\u00a0<\/p>\n There are also chicken wings on the menu, pepper potatoes, a chicken paprika burger, and the Big Tasty.\u00a0<\/p>\n Other items include a Nutella Sundae, Swiss Chocolate Pie, McPops, and it also has a gluten-free menu.\u00a0<\/p>\n \t\t While many social media<\/a> users have proclaimed Zermatt\u2019s McDonald\u2019s the most expensive in the world, it\u2019s hard to say for sure whether it actually is the most expensive of every branch that exists, given that there are currently more than 44,000 locations around the globe.\u00a0<\/p>\n It becomes even trickier to police this when you consider that prices are constantly going up amid the cost of living<\/a> crisis, and franchisees are able to set their own prices.<\/p>\n \t\t\t\tHey, foodies! Similarly, in Switzerland, a sharebox of 20 McNuggets is 18.80 CHF (\u00a317.74), whereas in the UK, 20 McNuggets are almost \u00a39 less, at \u00a38.79.\u00a0<\/p>\n Fizzy drinks <\/a>at McDonald\u2019s in <\/a>Switzerland are almost double the price that they are here, and fries can cost as much as 6.40 CHF, which would be \u00a36. In the UK, large fries are only \u00a32.59.<\/p>\n A meal for two for \u00a340<\/p>\n Abbey Sadleir shared her trip to McDonald\u2019s in Zermatt earlier this year in a video on TikTok, revealing she spent \u00a350 on food for two people.\u00a0<\/p>\n She showed off her receipt, which featured two meals, an extra veggie burger, and dessert, and the total came to 53 CHF.\u00a0<\/p>\n Similarly, Cameron Guzzo visited and spent $54, which is just under \u00a340 on two meals \u2013 a Friends meal with a Royal Bacon Cheeseburger, fries and a drink, plus The M burger, Pepper Potatoes, Apple Juice and a shot of Espresso.<\/p>\n @attheballpark<\/a> <\/p>\n We visited the world\u2019s most expensive McDonald\u2019s in Zermatt, Switzerland to see what the experience was like!
