A cordon is in place on a busy Glasgow street with reports police are investigating after windows were smashed by protestors.<\/p>\n
Officers <\/a>rushed to Waterloo Street in the city centre<\/a> before 8am and police shut off the pavement outside the Sentinel building on the corner of Douglas Street.<\/p>\n Images from the scene show police tape tied to lamp posts and doors cordoning off the walkway. Officers are also seen standing guard behind the cordon alongside two police cars.<\/p>\n READ MORE: Tesco boss issues food cost warning as Iran war ‘creating uncertainty’ for Brits<\/a>READ MORE: The 19 safest places in UK if war breaks out after Russia issues strike threat<\/a><\/p>\n It’s understood that the force are investigating a smashed window and graffiti reading “Chubb insures genocide” sprayed on the windows of the offices, reported the Daily Record<\/a>.<\/p>\n Chubb Insurance, housed in the building, has been the target of numerous Pro-Palestine demonstrations at their numerous locations across the UK.<\/p>\n Meanwhile, People Against Genocide activists covered their Manchester<\/a> offices in red paint and staged a protest outside on March 10. Similar happened at their offices in London on March 31.<\/p>\n In the incident in Manchester, the protest was outside Abbey House on Booth Street, at the junction with Mosley Street. A large amount of red paint has been thrown over the front windows and doors of the windows.<\/p>\n Two protesters were pictured sitting on the entrance roof. The group said the red paint is symbolic for the blood of lives lost on the Palestinian West Bank, Lebanon, and Iran.<\/p>\n And the latest demonstration happened yesterday at their Manchester office again. Photos from the scene showed the area taped off by police after red paint was splattered onto the structure and windows were smashed.<\/p>\n It is alleged these attacks have taken place due to the firm being the “insurers of Israeli<\/a> weapons firm Elbit Systems”.
