{"id":51076,"date":"2026-04-18T11:42:09","date_gmt":"2026-04-18T11:42:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ch\/51076\/"},"modified":"2026-04-18T11:42:09","modified_gmt":"2026-04-18T11:42:09","slug":"swiss-soccer-club-cancel-planned-kanye-west-concert-citing-club-values","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ch\/51076\/","title":{"rendered":"Swiss soccer club cancel planned Kanye West concert, citing club \u2018values\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Swiss football club FC Basel have cancelled a planned concert by Kanye West, indicating the rapper doesn\u2019t align with the club\u2019s \u201cvalues.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He was due to perform at the club\u2019s St. Jakob Park stadium, home of the 21-time Swiss champions, in June, but the club now say \u201cafter thorough review\u201d that is no longer the case.<\/p>\n<p>When approached by The Athletic, a Basel club spokesperson commented: \u201cIn principle, FC Basel is very keen to make greater use of St. Jakob-Park for concerts and events in the future, and we consider such enquiries carefully.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn this case, too, FCB received an enquiry and considered it. (Claudio Villa \/ Getty Images)<\/p>\n<p>Adidas, Balenciaga, Def Jam, Vogue, JP Morgan, and GAP are among the companies that have cut ties with West in recent years.<\/p>\n<p>On April 7, it was announced that the 48-year-old\u2019s headline show at Wireless, a music festival in the UK, had been cancelled after West was banned from entering the United Kingdom by the country\u2019s government.<\/p>\n<p>On the same day, a stadium in Poland announced the cancellation of a summer concert by West.
