The \u201cReal Madrid Foundation World Challenge\u201d tournament was held
\nin Madrid, Spain, bringing together youth football teams from 17
\ncountries. With the general sponsorship of ABB Bank, Azerbaijan was
\nrepresented at the tournament for the third time. All matches were
\nheld on the training grounds of the Real Madrid CF Academy.<\/p>\n
The U12 team representing Azerbaijan advanced to the semifinals
\nof the Gold League, where they drew 2:2 with a team from Mexico.
\nAfter losing in a penalty shootout, the team secured a 3:1 victory
\nover Canada in the next match. As a result, among 30 participating
\nteams, the Azerbaijani team finished in 3rd place and won bronze
\nmedals.<\/p>\n
Under the leadership of head coach Rovshan Babayev, the
\nfollowing young players took part in the tournament: Bavver Ayaz
\nBakir, Aylin Huseynova, Sara Mammadova, Ali Karimzade, Naim
\nMammadov, Javad Aliyev, Jamal Huseynbeyli, Mikayil Samedov, Islam
\nKhanbabazade, Ertugrul Nadir, Rauf Rahimov, Hasan Khalilov,
\nJahangir Iman, and Ismayil Sadiq.<\/p>\n
During the tournament, members of the Azerbaijani team also met
\nthe legendary footballer Roberto Carlos.<\/p>\n
All participating teams were selected through the \u201cReal Madrid
\nFoundation Clinic\u201d program, implemented in various countries. In
\nJune 2025, the program was held in Azerbaijan for the third time.
\nAs part of the project, implemented with the general sponsorship of
\nABB Bank and supported by partners Visa and Epoint, a football camp
\nwas organized at Sabis Sun International School. Following the
\nselection process, the \u201cAzerbaijan Footland\u201d team was formed from
\nthe best players.<\/p>\n
The \u201cReal Madrid Foundation Azerbaijan Clinic\u201d program is
\nscheduled to be held again in Baku from June 22 to 26, 2026.<\/p>\n
