<\/p>\nSarah Bern made it four tries in two games with another brace and Demelza Short won her first cap as the Red Roses secured a dominant 84-7 victory over Scotland at Murrayfield.<\/p>\n
The defending Women\u2019s Six Nations champions kept up their perfect start to the Championship with a 35th consecutive Test win and an emphatic performance in front of 30,498 fans \u2013 a record crowd for a standalone women\u2019s sporting event in Scotland.<\/p>\n
Bern started on the bench for the visitors but made an impressive impact when she was introduced after the reigning world champions went into the break 35-7 ahead as 19-year-old Short hit the ground running in the back row on her senior international bow.<\/p>\n
Bears prop Bern took just two minutes to get over the whitewash for her first of the afternoon after capitalising on Emma Sing\u2019s break through the Scottish defence, before adding a second try soon after with a pick-and-go from close range.<\/p>\n
Earlier, Scotland came close to opening the scoring buoyed by the record-breaking attendance, with Bears forward Elliann Clarke held up over the line from a tap penalty.<\/p>\n

Bears teammates Meryl Smith, Lana Skeldon and Hollie Cunningham also started for the home side, but the Red Roses showed no mercy as they scored 12 tries in total to make it two wins from two in their quest for an eight consecutive Women\u2019s Six Nations title.<\/p>\n
\u201cThat was a special performance, it\u2019s been a lot of moving parts over the last few weeks, with some of the players that are hugely valued in the team having serious injuries and the youngsters as well, so I am fortunate to the staff and the coaching group \u2013 they have done a tremendous job,\u201d said England head coach John Mitchell.<\/p>\n

The Red Roses will now face Wales in Round 3 as they return to Ashton Gate Stadium for the first time since winning both their quarter-final and semi-final fixtures in front of sold-out crowds on their way to winning the 2025 Women\u2019s Rugby World Cup.<\/p>\n
