The PGA Tour’s only team event takes place this week with the 2026 Zurich Classic of New Orleans in Avondale, Louisiana. Teams of 2 will compete as partners across 4 rounds starting Thursday, playing different formats throughout the week. They will alternate between best ball on Thursday and Saturday, and alternate shot on Friday and Sunday. TPC Louisiana is once again hosting this event.<\/p>\n
Below, we look at Zurich Classic odds and make our PGA Tour picks and predictions<\/a>.<\/p>\n It’s not an overly strong field this week, with many of the top players taking time off after back-to-back big tournaments. However, Matt Fitzpatrick, fresh off his win at the RBC Heritage, is teeing it up with his brother, Alex Fitzpatrick, and are the faorites at +1100. Brooks Koepka and Shane Lowry are another team (+1200), as are Aaron Rai and Sahith Theegala (+2000).<\/p>\n TPC Louisiana is 7,425 yards long and is a par 72, featuring an abundance of water hazards throughout the property. It’s what makes the course so difficult, especially when it comes to playing alternate shot in the second and fourth rounds. The winning score has ranged from 20-under to 30-under since 2017. Lowry was also in contention at Augusta before fading on Sunday, so the 2 of them should make for a nice pairing this week.<\/p>\n Aaron Rai\/Sahith Theegala (+2000)<\/p>\n Rai is a terrific iron player and when dialed in, Theegala can go really low. Theegala’s quietly had a very good season, finishing T-25 at the RBC Heritage after a T-10 in Houston. Rai has struggled, but in a format where he could be hitting a lot of irons in alternate shot, it could help get him going.<\/p>\n Zurich Classic picks \u2013 ContendersAndrew Putnam\/Austin Smotherman (+4500)<\/p>\n Smotherman has been a surprising bright spot on tour this season, playing well throughout the year. Putnam isn’t a long hitter, but he finds fairways and keeps the ball in play, which is critical at a water-filled course like TPC Louisiana.<\/p>\n Zurich Classic picks \u2013 Long shotsTom Hoge\/Billy Horschel (+6600)<\/p>\n Hoge has long been a great ball striker and he has experience playing this event, making the cut last year with Kevin Chappell.
