{"id":52941,"date":"2026-04-21T15:41:08","date_gmt":"2026-04-21T15:41:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ch\/52941\/"},"modified":"2026-04-21T15:41:08","modified_gmt":"2026-04-21T15:41:08","slug":"erde-switzerland-collects-over-2660-tonnes-of-agricultural-plastics-in-2025","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ch\/52941\/","title":{"rendered":"ERDE Switzerland collects over 2,660 tonnes of agricultural plastics in 2025"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"lead\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.erde-schweiz.ch\/\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"Link opens in new window (ERDE Switzerland)\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">ERDE Switzerland<\/a> is celebrating continued growth, having collected over 2,660 tonnes of <a href=\"https:\/\/interplasinsights.com\/topics\/agriculture\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">agricultural<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/interplasinsights.com\/topics\/waste-management\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">waste<\/a> in 2025, with silage and stretch <a href=\"https:\/\/interplasinsights.com\/topics\/film\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">films<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/interplasinsights.com\/topics\/recycling\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">recycled<\/a>. This is an increase of around 6.5% compared to the previous year. Additionally, the company has expanded its network, with 127 collection points now available.<\/p>\n<p>Every year, large volumes of plastic products (e.g., silage stretch films, silage sheets, underlay films and baler twines) are used in Swiss agriculture. The voluntary take-back system ERDE Switzerland has been established to ensure these products don\u2019t end up as waste. Now, manufacturers, farmers and collection point operators work together to collect used agricultural plastics, recycle and then return them to the material cycle.<\/p>\n<p>Farms can also establish their own collection points, helping both the operators and neighbouring farms by reducing transport distances and boosting financial support through ERDE Switzerland.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cToday, ERDE Switzerland counts 127 collection points \u2013 an encouraging figure that demonstrates how the network is expanding and how all stakeholders are taking responsibility to keep raw materials in circulation,\u201d said Riccardo Casanova, Managing Director of ERDE Switzerland. \u201cTogether with our system operator, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rigk.de\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"Link opens in new window (RIGK GmbH)\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">RIGK GmbH<\/a>, we continue to identify new collection points to cover areas where gaps still exist. Compared to the previous year, support for collection points has been further strengthened \u2013 a necessary response to the challenges of the recycling market.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The recycling process is conducted in Switzerland and in other certified EU facilities. Independent auditors verify the collection and recycling processes and document the recovery.<\/p>\n<p>There is still room for future growth.
