The results exceeded expectations, driven by strong base order momentum and the impact of price hikes. Additionally, ABB Ltd, the global parent, also reported broad-based order growth, highlighting healthy demand across geographies.

While overall order inflows remain strong, analysts are closely watching the segmental break-up of ABB India’s orders. The sustainability and quality of growth across different business segments will be crucial in determining whether current momentum can be maintained.

Valuations Limit Upside Potential

Despite the strong fundamentals, Nomura believes that much of the positive outlook is already priced into the stock. ABB India has significantly outperformed the Nifty 50, gaining around 47% year-to-date compared to the index’s 7% decline. This sharp rally raises concerns about stretched valuations, limiting further upside.

Looking ahead, Nomura estimates an earnings CAGR of around 12% over CY25–28. While steady, this level of growth may not justify the premium valuation the stock currently commands, especially in a competitive industrial landscape.

Earnings Estimates Lag Consensus

Another point of caution is that Nomura’s EPS estimates for CY27–28 are 2–3% below Bloomberg consensus forecasts. This suggests a relatively conservative view on future earnings potential, reinforcing the brokerage’s cautious stance.

While ABB India continues to benefit from strong order inflows and favorable demand conditions, high valuations, moderate earnings growth, and slightly weaker forward estimates are key risks investors should consider before making fresh investments.

ABB India Ltd is one of the leading engineering and technology companies specializing in electrification, robotics, automation, and motion solutions. It serves industries like manufacturing, energy, and infrastructure, helping improve efficiency, productivity, and sustainability through advanced digital and industrial technologies.

Disclaimer: The views and investment tips expressed by investment experts/broking houses/rating agencies on tradebrains.in are their own, and not that of the website or its management.
