{"id":54869,"date":"2026-04-24T08:45:10","date_gmt":"2026-04-24T08:45:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ch\/54869\/"},"modified":"2026-04-24T08:45:10","modified_gmt":"2026-04-24T08:45:10","slug":"swiss-national-bank-chairman-says-middle-east-conflict-will-hit-economy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ch\/54869\/","title":{"rendered":"Swiss National Bank chairman says Middle East conflict will hit economy"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"yf-1fy9kyt\">By John Revill<\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-1fy9kyt\">BERN, April 24 (Reuters) &#8211; The Middle East conflict will lead to slower economic growth and higher inflation in Switzerland, \u200cbut the Swiss National Bank has unrestricted scope to target price \u200cstability, SNB Chairman Martin Schlegel said on Friday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-1fy9kyt\">The war had made the global economic situation &#8220;very \u200buncertain&#8221;, Schlegel told the SNB&#8217;s annual general meeting.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-1fy9kyt\">The outlook for inflation and the economy in Switzerland had also become much more unclear, he added.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-1fy9kyt\">&#8220;Growth could be rather subdued in the short term, even though we expect an upturn \u200cto some extent in \u2060the medium term.
