The British rider is joined by Xabier Mikel Azparren, Sjoerd Bax, Marcel Camprubi, Chris Harper<\/a>, Quinten Hermans and Xandro Meurisse, giving Q36.5 a mix of climbing support, experience and depth for one of the most demanding one-day races on the calendar.<\/p>\n


\nPidcock arrives in Li\u00e8ge after a successful return to racing at the Tour of the Alps<\/a>, where he won a stage and finished the week with growing confidence following his crash at the Volta a Catalunya.<\/p>\n

That context matters, but this is now a different test. Li\u00e8ge brings a deeper field, a longer distance and a very different pressure, with Tadej Pogacar, Remco Evenepoel and Paul Seixas among the major names expected to shape the race.<\/p>\n

Pidcock acknowledged that step up himself after the final stage of the Tour of the Alps. \u201cYeah, a lot more confidence,\u201d he said in conversation with Cycling Pro Net when asked about heading towards Li\u00e8ge<\/a>. \u201cIt\u2019s going to be very different. It\u2019ll be a lot harder than this, I think. But we\u2019ll see. Let\u2019s go and have a race.\u201dHarper adds another in-form option<\/p>\n

Chris Harper also comes across from the Tour of the Alps, where he finished seventh overall and helped underline a positive week for the team. \u201cAs a team, we had a nice Tour of the Alps,\u201d Harper said in the team\u2019s pre-race press material. \u201cObviously winning a stage with Tom after he\u2019s coming back from his injury was very awesome. And I\u2019m also happy with my performance personally after a long time of not racing after my crash in UAE Tour. All in all it was a good week for the team.\u201d<\/p>\n

Harper and Pidcock recently teamed up successfully in the Alps<\/p>\n

The team\u2019s final pre-race mood also reflects the scale of the assignment. \u201cJust heading out for a pre-Li\u00e8ge spin with the guys. Looking forward to tomorrow. It\u2019s going to be a big day on the bike. All the big guys in the world are here, it\u2019s a big Classic, so really looking forward to it.\u201d<\/p>\n

For Q36.5, the race is therefore both a test of Pidcock\u2019s rapidly returning form and of the support structure around him. After a promising week in the Alps, Li\u00e8ge-Bastogne-Li\u00e8ge offers a much clearer indication of where he stands against the very best.<\/p>\n
