With this step, the airline is responding to changing passenger purchasing behavior and is transferring the offering – with a broader selection – to the digital ‘Worldshop’ of Miles & More.

Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS) has carefully analyzed the sale of duty-free goods onboard in recent years. The result is clear: fewer and fewer guests are making purchases inflight. More and more passengers now research products at home, compare prices online, and make their purchases before they even arrive at the airport. The spontaneous purchase from the onboard duty-free trolley has become the exception – no longer the rule. SWISS is drawing the consequences and will discontinue inflight duty-free sales at the end of September 2026.

The onboard offering includes, among other items, watches, jewelry, perfumes, cosmetics, as well as various accessories and gift items. The current inflight sales catalog will remain valid until the offering ends on September 30, 2026. From June onward, SWISS will offer selected items from the remaining duty-free assortment at reduced prices – with discounts starting at 25 percent, while stocks last. After that, SWISS will discontinue duty-free sales entirely. Other onboard retail offerings on SWISS flights, in particular the Economy food and beverage concept ‘SWISS Saveurs,’ will remain unaffected by this adjustment.

Going forward, customers will continue to be able to purchase selected products from today’s duty-free catalog online via the existing ‘Worldshop’ of Miles & More.
