\n\tPARIS \u2014 La Roche-Posay<\/a> has become the Title Partner of the French Challenger team, K-Challenge, for the 38th America\u2019s Cup. It will compete under \u201cLa Roche-Posay Racing Team.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tAlexandra Reni-Catherine, international general manager at La Roche-Posay<\/a>, the world\u2019s leading dermocosmetics <\/a>brand, said the tie-in makes sense for various reasons. \u201cFirst, because we share the same DNA with the America\u2019s Cup,\u201d she said, referring to the world\u2019s oldest sport trophy, \u201cwhich is about how to drive performance through science.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cSecond is we have French roots,\u201d she continued. \u201cAnd we have a culture of being a challenger. La Roche-Posay was a challenger in the past. What we also have in common is we both believe in care.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cIf you want to win a race, it\u2019s about how we care for one another on the boat, and that mindset of caring is really what we try to develop in La Roche-Posay,\u201d Reni-Catherine said. \u201cYou don\u2019t win alone, you win with a team. That\u2019s how we approach skin care today as an ecosystem.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe brand, which lends its name to a team for the first time, looks at the tie-in with the America\u2019s Cup through a new lens. \u201cWe consider it as a living lab,\u201d she explained. \u201cWe\u2019re going to use the partnership to try out new formulas that are under development, to make sure that they are built for extreme conditions, for people who are top athletes racing in the most difficult conditions \u2014 UV exposure, wind, salty waters \u2014 and that really do not have time to properly care for their skin.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tLa Roche-Posay will collect feedback on the athletes\u2019 experience to co-build products. The brand has never done this before. In the scopes will be protection from sun damage and learning how to give faster recovery from repair products.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThe athletes will feel better in general during the race, after the race [and] recover quickly,\u201d said St\u00e9phan Kandler, chief executive officer of La Roche-Posay Racing Team. \u201cIt will be a very exciting journey to develop new products or to use products which are in current development and make them better.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tHe called the America\u2019s Cup \u201cmore than a yacht race. It\u2019s a technical race.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tIn the America\u2019s Cup La Roche-Posay Racing Team will have a female crew member. It is to race in the Youth America\u2019s Cup and Women\u2019s America\u2019s Cup, too. La Roche-Posay has helped design final touches on the team\u2019s boat (think light colors), as well as the sailors\u2019 uniforms.<\/p>\n

\n\tHighly breathable sun care and skin care is the top goal. Reni-Catherine said the brand and sailing team \u201cshare the same dream of ultimate performance.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tLa Roche-Posay\u2019s parent L\u2019Or\u00e9al<\/a> has supported the America\u2019s Cup Crew since 1995. \u201cIt has been one of our historic partners,\u201d Kandler said.<\/p>\n

\n\tBefore the America\u2019s Cup final, in Naples, Italy, on July 10, 2027, the six Challenger teams are to compete in preliminary regattas. Those will take place in Cagliari, Sardinia, in Italy, from May 21 to 24, 2026.<\/p>\n
